Pandora Set Free From Your Browser
If you’re a music lover (and I know you are) chances are you’ve used or heard of Pandora. It’s an awesome music streaming webapp designed to help you discover new music and artists while rediscovering the music you already love.
Sure there are webapps I can't live without, some I'd rather use in my browser, some I wish were their own application that I didn't have to open Firefox to use. Pandora falls into that latter category.
There have been past attempts at getting Pandora away from your browser, some okay, others not so much.
The team behind Pandora (called the "Music Genome Project") have come out with an official desktop client based around the slick-as-heck Adobe AIR platform. Naturally called Pandora Desktop Beta.
You can do everything within the app that you can do on its website: the ability to create channels, listen to your current channels, and navigate the social networking features with the speed of a desktop program. The team also encourages feedback, so let 'em know if there is anything you don't like or would like to see. Available for Windows and Mac OSX. Don't be surprised if there is a Linux version down the road.
UPDATE: There's a review of this new app over at Mysticgeek's Realm.
